Wintergarden at PPG Place

EVENT SPACE AT PPG PLACE, DOWNTOWN PITTSBURGH

Urban Jewel Box

A unique space that is part of downtown Pittsburgh’s PPG Place, designed by architect Philip Johnson, The Wintergarden is one of the most picturesque settings for an event in Pittsburgh.

Both an urban public space as well as a private event space, this project’s challenge was to maintain both of those while delivering on a one-of-a-kind opportunity (and photo opp too!).

Building within an all-glass enclosure is difficult enough, but adding in the aspect of food preparation and delivery as well as maintaining an environment that is an amenity for the office tenants above created complexity.

Constant communication with landlord representatives, the project’s general contractor, and municipal entities who were also entering unknown territory (public vs private, health inspections, etc) were critical to delivering this project satisfactorily to all.

Oh by the way, we built a coffee bar that doubles as an event liquor bar too!
